About Rodney T. Smith, Ph.D.
Dr. Smith has over 35 years experience in the water resource consulting field. He is the President of Stratecon, Inc., an international consulting firm specializing in economics, finance, law and the politics of water resources. He is responsible for overall operations specializing in water policy, financing and the politics of water resources and finance law. Dr. Smith is a managing member of Strategic Water Management LLC, manager of private investment entities for water resources, President of Baja Norte Water Resources, LLC, a project developer of bi-national water projects, and Co-Manager of Northern California Water Partners LLC. He is a founding member of Professionals for Water Supply Reliability and an advisor in the acquisition of water rights throughout the western U.S. and in the sale and leasing of water rights and water supplies. Dr. Smith serves on the Board of Visitors of the School of Politics and Economics, Claremont Graduate University and on the Board of the Reed Institute of Decision Sciences, Claremont McKenna College. He has published two books. He was born on June 23, 1948 in Fresno, California and obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in 1976.
